When a general gives briefing to soldiers and uses a metaphor in order to describe the proximity of the enemy, he says: "Storm clouds are towering at the borders of our homeland". By that, the general meant something else than the sergeant. The sergeant can only comprehend the first meaning of words, so he issues the command: “Haven’t you heard assholes? The storm is coming, put on the cloak!”. Well, so it is with the explanations of the Quran.
