There are questions that we can answer and there are others that we cannot, and yet we force the answer out of ourselves. There are situations that are unequivocal, fit into the norms of our environment, and some others do not.
Sanctity is not the appropriate word in Islam, but in the culture in which we grew up, that word expresses what I want to say. We often believe in the sanctity of something, in its unquestionable goodness. Sometime we do it rightly, but sometime we are wrong.
Many thanks for my life-relationships (there were a couple) for plundering me. They did not know how good they did to me. Many thanks for them for pushing me towards the way of spiritual development. If they were not there, I will never get to another understanding of the world that is much easier to live in.
In my article “Original function of mosques and their role today”, the issue of mosques was discussed as places for worship and other activities. Many add their own thoughts that the five daily prayers can be performed at home or in a nearby mosque, for Friday worship it is better to have a mosque, for the Feasts (Eid) a larger mosque or center is advisable and Mecca, the largest sanctuary of Kaaba receives millions of pilgrims a year.
There is a prediction in the Quran. Not just a prediction about the Last Judgement, the Last Hour, but a prediction that will take place in a much shorter period of time, which has taken place in the life of the man of the age. The fulfilment of the word of the Quran had enormous persuasive power in regard of the authenticity of the word of Allah.
We all follow patterns. The patterns of our parents, the patterns of our narrow environment, and as we expand our knowledge about the world, we choose other patterns. However, this assumes that we have the capacity to absorb knowledge.
Europeanism and its appreciation are a fashionable topic. No doubt there is a lot to be proud of. Ancient Greece, Rome, the achievement of democracy, with its good and bad sides, then a thousand years of barbarism and horrors under the banner of the cross, but later on a revival, renaissance, enlightenment, science, technology, etc.
What is the picture we are going to paint? A single, childless, wealthy young man with a Rolls-Royce is looking for a partner in his palace”. The reality is in contrast: a poor guy wearing fake jewelries in a photoshop-made picture, where he is mounted with a beautiful car, wants to fuck. Painted picture: “A single woman in her 20s looking for a partner in her life.” The attached picture shows Naomi Campbell or Britney Spears. But in reality, a whore with missing teeth wants to pull some money from someone’s pocket.
We can distinguish between the prescribed prayer, which has an obligatory practice, a ritual, what is Sunnah and the du'a what is different. The Sunnah of the prayer was given by Allah (SWT) to the Prophet (peace be upon him) on his way to the heaven (mi'raj). The language of prayer is Arabic, its prescribed movements are fixed.
A young man, a student in one of the universities, was one day taking a walk with a Professor, who was commonly called the student's friend, from his kindness to those who waited on his instructions.
In an untruthful world the lie is the truth. If the lie replaces the truth, the meaning of the words is lost. The content of peace will not be peace, but something else. Promises lose their credibility, the statements can be questioned at the moment when those are declared. Only strength dominates and whoever rules it keeps the untruthful truth alive.
In 1993, my left side was paralyzed. Hospital, treatment for 3 months, serious condition, etc. Diagnosis: Sclerosis Multiplex. Pipes in, pipes out, worried faces. Doctors came and went, telling my visitors and my relatives something that made them sit on the edge of my bed even more anxiously. One of the nurses had only the courage to tell the truth: I have about 6 months, at most 1 year left. If the situation is like that, I must get out of here, I said. I left. I was wobbling with a stick, a walking frame, but by then I had no one.
When you are anxious, depressed, you often have problems with your ego. You push your ego too far into the events. The ego is vulnerable, and if it is injured, it will ruin you. Get away from yourself, your ego, and you'll be fine. If you are in sorrow, you do it because of your own distress, if you mourn, you do it because of your own grief, if you are panicking, you do it because of your own vulnerability. If your ego would not make you self-inclined, which makes you feel sorry for yourself a lot, you would be able to withstand difficult times.
For many centuries there is a constant dispute about the genuineness of the Holy Scriptures. I think that we are on the wrong track if we concentrate on the differences. In fact, we must find the similarities what strengthen each other’s truths.
I have noticed several times if I post pictures and articles about politicians (usually I take over articles from international news and those are not my own publications), some commenters depending on their tempers defend and some others attack the person.
Now let’s put aside the notion of winged creatures attached to angels, no matter how many hadiths we find about these wings. I am on a sweat when I hear about the wings because I saw seraphims and cherubims depicted in this way on the sarcophagus of the pharaohs, so I know where this perception comes from. Obviously, this was believable to the man of the age.
